Merit Scholarships
The following merit scholarships are available to incoming Fall 2020 freshmen upon admission to WCSU. Incoming students who have been accepted by February 1st and meet the below criteria will be considered.
Presidential Merit Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to students with the highest standard of scholastic achievement. It covers in-state tuition and fees, renewable each semester for four years.
Conditions:
- 1340 minimum SAT (math and reading) or 29 ACT composite
- 92 minimum high school GPA
- Recipients must maintain 3.2 GPA at Western with full-time course load
- Must remain active in Kathwari Honors Program
Connecticut State University Trustee Scholarship
The Trustee Scholarship awards $4,000 annually. It is renewable each year for four years.
Conditions:
- 1290 SAT (math and reading) or 27 ACT composite
- 90 minimum high school GPA
- Recipients must maintain 3.0 GPA at Western with full-time course load
- Must accept preliminary semester in Kathwari Honors Program
Colonial Scholarship
The Honors Scholarship awards $2,000 annually. It is renewable each year for four years.
Conditions:
- 1200 minimum SAT(math and reading) or 25 ACT composite
- 88 minimum high school GPA
- Recipients must maintain 3.0 GPA at Western with full-time course load
- Must accept preliminary semester in Kathwari Honors Program
