Professor Monks was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He attended Notre Dame Catholic High School, Fairfield. He earned his BS in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University, passing his CPA exam shortly after graduation.
After several years working in the accounting industry, he entered the University of Bridgeport School of Law (now Quinnipiac University Law School). There, he earned his Juris Doctorate degree, and subsequently his LL.M. degree in Taxation. He interned for the United States Department of Justice. Professor Monks practiced law and public accounting in the Fairfield and New Haven County areas. He was employed by several public accounting and law firms, and also operated a solo law practice. Although having practiced in many areas, he primarily focused on tax, probate, estate planning, fraud investigation and business law matters. Professor Monks is admitted to and has litigated cases before the Connecticut Bar, the United States District Court (Connecticut) and the United States Tax Court. He is a Connecticut CPA (Inactive) and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
In 1992, while in solo practice, Mr. Monks began teaching as an adjunct professor in the Justice and Law Administration program at WCSU. There, he discovered his love of teaching. In 2004, he accepted a full-time position in WCSU’s Accounting Department. He was promoted to full-professor in 2012 and became chair of the Accounting Department in 2015.

Jim Donegan has been a member of the Accounting Department since 1999. He currently also serves as Assistant Dean and has been MBA Coordinator and Interim Dean. His service to WCSU has included chairing the University Planning and Budgeting Committee and the Graduate Council. He has most recently taught Consolidations and Partnerships, Fraud Examination, and Governmental and Not-For-Profit Accounting. He received his BA from the CUNY BA Program, his MBA from Baruch College (CUNY), and Ph.D. from the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!) and has held faculty positions at Baruch College and SUNY-New Paltz. His research interest has been primarily focused on white-collar crime as it impacts accounting. Jim recently concluded 25 years as a trustee of the Alumni Association of the Bronx High School of Science, including 17 as treasurer.

Dr. Michele Ganon joined the Accounting Department in 1991 and is its longest serving member; her areas of expertise are taxation, managerial accounting, and white-collar crime and she currently teaches Advanced Taxation, Cost Accounting, and Strategic Cost Management.
She is a member of the Kathwari Honors Program Council and has recently taught honors courses on white-collar crime and managing not-for-profit organizations and also serves on the President’s Athletic Advisory Council. She is now serving her third biennial term as Secretary-Treasurer of the American Association of University Professors, the 40,000 member professional organization devoted to protecting and promoting academic freedom and shared governance throughout the U. S.
Dr. Ganon received a B.S. degree from Lehman College, where she later taught for several years, an MBA from Baruch College and a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. She is registered to practice Public Accounting in New York State and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant credential awarded by the AICPA.

Dr. Youngbin Kim completed his Ph.D. study in Business Administration at University of Hawaii at Manoa with a major in accounting. He received his M.B.A. degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His completed his undergraduate degree with a double major in both Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Business Administration at Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea.
Dr. Kim joined Western Connecticut State University in 2016. Currently, he is an assistant professor in the Accounting Department at the Ancell School of Business. Prior to joining the faculty at WCSU, he was an automotive engineer in Korea (2005 – 2008). Dr. Kim’s role was to design steering parts by using a CAD program.
While completing his Ph.D., Dr. Kim taught Managerial Accounting at University of Manoa. At Western Connecticut State University, he has been teaching Financial Accounting, Governmental Accounting, and Managerial Accounting. His research interests include Financial Accounting, Social Network Analysis on accounting topics, and firms’ engagement and reporting of corporate social responsibility.

Mr. Rotondo holds a BS in Accounting from Boston College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is also a Connecticut CPA.
Mr. Rotondo has 30 years of professional experience in accounting, finance and financial risk management including 20 years as a managing director and 12 years as a General Securities Principal. He has worked for Arthur Andersen, Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan Chase, HSH-Nordbank, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and CS First Boston. Mr. Rotondo has also taught finance at Western Connecticut State University. He has co-authored articles published by the International Journal of Business & Applied Sciences and the Business Education Innovation Journal.
