Pi Day 2007

The Pi day celebration kicked off at 1:59 PM on March 14.  It was a beautiful day in the 60’s and we had our celebration outside.  All present had a good time.

Congratulations to the “PI writers” who wrote 1270 digits of PI on the sidewalks around Higgins.

Activities included:  Eat a pie in as close to 3 minutes 14 seconds as possible contest, String a bead necklace with the digits of Pi (color coded), Recite the digits of PI, and the “Are you smarter than a professor?” trivia contest.

There was also a PI cake! Or was it a cake PI?

Activities included:  Lunch hour chalk encryption of Pi (to 817 digits) on the sidewalks around Higgins, Eat a pie in as close to 3 minutes 14 seconds as possible contest, String a bead necklace with the digits of Pi (color coded), and a math trivia contest
