Substance Use Counseling
At the undergraduate level, four courses on Substance Use Counseling are offered at WCSU to meet the academic requirements for Certification of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC) as defined by the Connecticut Certification Board .The certification board of New York provides reciprocal certification for Connecticut CADCs.
Prerequisites for these courses are Introduction to Psychology and Abnormal Psychology.
The Psychology Department also offers a 1-year full-time M.S. in Addiction Studies as preparation for certification as a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC) in Connecticut.
