Bonzena Padykula, Department of Nursing

Mrs. Bozena M. Padykula is a new member of WCSU faculty starting the fall of 2010. She joined the WCSU nursing department as the full time Assistant Professor of Nursing. For seven years she was a member of UCONN School of Nursing, first five years as clinical instructor and two most recent years as Clinical Assistant Professor.

She received her ADN from Capital Community College of Hartford, CT (1997); BS from the Charter Oak State College, New Britain, CT (2001); MSN from University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT (2003); and PMC from St. Joseph College, West Hartford, CT (2009) in the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner track.

Mrs. Padykula has been a practicing registered nurse for 11 years in the areas of psychiatric, geriatric-medical/psychiatric, medical-surgical nursing.

She is certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and by American Holistic Nursing Association as Advanced Holistic Nurse. She is a member of American Holistic Nursing Association. Areas of research interest include evaluating effectiveness of Reiki and acupressure on stress reduction. She has presented her Reiki research findings in local and national conferences including: UCONN Nursing Research Day, Storrs, CT (2005), the American Holistic Nurses Association 26th Annual Conference, St Paul, MN (2006).
