Western provides training for students as well as faculty & staff. The Student Technology Training Center offers workshops covering a number of different technologies including Windows, Microsoft Office, etc. The goal at the STTC is to inform students, faculty and staff about the fundamentals of computing at Western. Our focus is on the various tutorials we offer, the individualized assistance we provide, and the facilities and software we have available. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide a facility, which is staffed with students who have interests in the field of training and computers.
The STTC is located on the second floor of the Student Center on the Midtown Campus.

Introduction to Microsoft Word
Word makes it even easier to format text and paragraphs; create numbered and bulleted lists; insert images, clip art, and Word Art.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel
This workshop will help you learn the basics of Microsoft Excel. Topics include formatting data, using formulas, graphing data, and much more. Menu options and file formats also change on this refreshed version of Excel. This is one not to miss.
Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint
PowerPoint presentations have become even easier to create using this updated feature-rich version. In addition to PowerPoint basics, this workshop will explore the new tools for creating animations, using templates, utilizing multimedia, and much more.
Introduction to Adobe Photoshop
This workshop uses the most popular high-end image editor for the Macintosh and Windows from Adobe. Learn how to remove red-eye, correct imperfections in images such as blemishes, and soon enough you will learn to do more complex changes such as photo-restoration.
Introduction to Adobe InDesign
Adobe InDesign is widely considered the industry standard for desktop publishing software. InDesign can be used to create posters, flyers, brochures, magazines, books, and much more.
Introduction to Adobe Illustrator
This workshop presents Adobe’s vector-based graphics software. This software can be used for graphic design, page layouts, typography, sharp-edged artistic illustrations (e.g. cartoons, clip art, complex geometric patterns), technical illustrations, diagramming and flowcharting.
