Before you begin, please watch the 20 minute video tutorial to learn how to create online mock interviews. When you are ready, to create an account, go to the Western Connecticut State University’s Career Success Center’s online career tools, Optimal Résumé, at https://wcsu.optimalresume.com/.

You will only be asked to create an account once and then you will have access to all the online career tools.

To create a new Interview, log into Optimal Résumé, and go to the Document Center and follow these steps:

1. Select Create New Interview, name it and click Start Interview.
2. Select the Interview Type, Length/Format, and Interviewer.
3. When you are done making your choices, click Continue Interview.

You will then see a list of questions in the center, with videos on both sides. The left video will ask you the question and the right video will explain what employers look for in your answers. Everything you see and record is private and confidential so feel free to be creative.

You can practice as many interviews as you wish, in the privacy of your own dorm. To end and start again, simply click Document Center at the top of your page, and you will be brought back to the main dashboard.
