Feb. 24 – CAREER EXPLORATION AND INFORMATION (WCSU students only)

The WCSU Career Development Office and the Ancell School of Business will host a “Career Exploration and Information” event at 2 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Campus Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. This student-centered event is an opportunity to discuss potential careers in various industries, as well as future positions and internships. Partcipating employers will meet with students in an informal setting and share their passion for their respective careers, and pass along information about their organization, product or service. Many larger organizations have multiple disciplines, and this insight can be valuable to students. Open to WCSU students only. For more information send an email to ciarleglioa@wcsu.edu.

 

Feb. 24 – LINKEDIN WORKSHOP (WCSU students only)

The WCSU Career Development Center will offer a LinkedIn workshop at noon in Room 411 of the Ruth Haas Library on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Students will learn about the career and professional benefits of utilizing Linkedin.com. This workshop will be hands-on in the computer lab. It is appropriate for those with no knowledge of LinkedIn as well as for those with an already established profile that might need some fine tuning. It will be free and open to WCSU students only. Feb. 29 – DRESS FOR SUCCESS (WCSU faculty, staff and students only)

The WCSU Career Services Office and Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise Rent-A-Car) will host a “Dress for Success” event at 4 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Campus Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. This student-centered event will feature a PowerPoint presentation and interactive discussion, question-and-answer period, and two $100 raffles to area clothing stores. Mar. 2 – SPEED NETWORKING (Pre-registered WCSU students and alumni only)

WCSU Career Services, the Ancell School of Business and the Office of Alumni Relations will host a Speed Networking Bootcamp for students and alumni at 5:15 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Campus Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Students will participate in a Speed Networking session with WCSU alumni associated with the Ancell School of Business. Alumni and students who wish to participate must preregister by sending an email to temkinl@wcsu.edu by Friday, Feb. 26. Only preregistered participants may attend. The Alumni Association/Office of Alumni Relations will host a reception at the conclusion of the event. For more information, send an email to temkinl@wcsu.edu.

The WCSU Career Development Center will offer a “Gimme a (Spring) Break” resume workshop at 10 a.m. in Room 207 of the Student Center on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Take advantage of Spring Break to catch up on important workshops to help prepare for your job search. The workshop is an hour in length and will be free and open to WCSU students only.
