Financial Aid

Verification Process

Effective: Fall 2018

Verification is the process by which additional information may be requested of you in order to process your financial aid award offer. To expedite the federal verification process, we have partnered with Inceptia and will use a Verification Gateway online portal.

If your FAFSA application is selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education, you will receive an introductory email to the email address you provided on the FAFSA. If no email was provided, you will receive an introductory postcard. The postcard will have our university logo along with Inceptia’s – so you will know it is an official document.

What Happens Next?

A custom school link will be included in the introductory communication to request your access to the Verification Gateway. You will need to do the following*:

2019-2020 Verification  OR   2018-2019 Verification

    • Confirm your identity (authentication).
    • Create a secure user name and password.
    • Decide if you want to receive text messages and approve to e-sign.
    • Access your Action List and begin the verification process (the list may consist of some combination of online forms and the request to upload specific documents to the Verification Gateway).

*Dependent students who provide parental information on the FAFSA are required to have one parent also authenticate and create an account. This parent will be required to e-sign or provide an ink signature once all documentation have been submitted.

*If more than one dependent student is selected in the same household, the parent must create separate Inceptia accounts with unique email addresses for each student.

Upon receipt of all required documents, Inceptia will begin the verification process. Students will be notified if there are any questions or if any additional documentation is required via email, text, or postcard. Once verification has been completed, the student and WCSU will be notified.

If you have any questions about the verification process, please contact Inceptia, Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST at 888-374-8427 or by email at

Students Not Selected for Verification

Please note, students whose FAFSA application was not selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education, but may require additional information to proceed with processing, may receive information directly from
