The WCSU-AAUP Steven Ward Leadership Award is given to an undergraduate honors student who has an outstanding record of service to the university and/or the community and who is in financial need.
The WCSU Honors Council recommends to the WCSU-AAUP Executive Committee, one student to receive the award.The award is made by the WCSU-AAUP Executive Committee in the spring semester.
Criteria for selection:
1. The student must be enrolled in the WCSU Honors Program.
2. The student must be eligible for financial aid.*
3. The student must have an outstanding record of service. In order to apply, the student must submit a written description (approximately 250 words) of his or her service activities during the preceding year.
*International students who are not eligible for financial aid due to their visa status may also apply by demonstrating financial need. This shall be done by filling out the appropriate financial aid forms and having he WCSU Financial Aid Office certify that the student would be eligible for financial aid except for his or her visa status.
