STRESSBUSTERS

The Institute for Holistic Health Studies at WCSU holds its event STRESSSBUSTERS! every year at the end of the Fall semester.

This event, designed to help students, faculty, and staff manage the “end of semester” stress, is co sponsored by the Center for Compassion, Creativity, and Innovation at WCSU.  STRESSBUSTERS! features a variety of practitioners  offering tips and techniques for self care and tools  to ease and relieve stress.  Among the services provided are Reiki, Reflexology, Restorative yoga, Hand massage, Aromatherapy, Tarot card readings, Emotional Freedom technique (EFT—commonly known as “tapping”) and Crystals for healing.  Energy protection exercises are demonstrated, and the Shamanic practitioner guides participants to find their power animal. Information on exercise and nutrition to help alleviate stress and encourage relaxation is provided, and attendees enjoy the  compassionate heart exercise, breathing meditations and  visualizations, coloring meditation, and the  chocolate meditation.   Drumming for healing is very popular, and everyone enjoys the therapy dogs.   Over one hundred people learn new ways to ease and relieve their stress, and to stop and take life one breath at a time.
