Mudra Meditations

The Institute for Holistic Health Studies will sponsor a Mudra Meditation series on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm in Warner Hall room 103 on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White Street, Danbury, CT The 2019 dates for this series are as follows: February 12, March 12, April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10. Members of the university community as well as members of the greater Danbury community are invited to attend. If the university is closed due to inclement weather, class will be cancelled.

This class is broken into two parts. The first part is all about mindset.  Learn the best ways to use your thoughts and words to create a successful meditation practice and more. The second part consists of Mudras which are simple finger and hand positions that help create a  meditative state  all done while sitting in the comfort of a chair. Simply by placing your fingers and hands in different postures, you can create different effects in your body. We will cover some breathing and meditation mudras. These Meditation Mudras are practiced in over a hundred countries. The purpose of this meditation is to create a state of mindfulness/thoughtless awareness. The benefits of this meditation are numerous. Some of the benefits include inner peace, happiness, clarity, improved focus, stress reduction, relaxation, and improved physical health.

Jesse Rovero is a meditation enthusiast/teacher.. He is originally a self-taught meditator with over thirteen years of experience.  Over the past seven years he has been studying and practicing mudras. He fell in love with the practice and started his own classes. All his classes are free because he wishes to share his love of meditation.
