Janelle Robinson is a past recipient of The Richard Tucker Study Grant, The MacAllister Award, 2nd place in the Baltimore Opera Competition and most recently The Connecticut Critic Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Bloody Mary in STONC’s production of SOUTH PACIFIC.

Other performing credits include originating the role of Mrs. Corry in Disney/Cameron Mackintosh’s production of MARY POPPINS; the revivals of SHOWBOAT and OKLAHOMA as well as the 1st National Tours of SHOWBOAT, playing Queenie and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE playing Ms. Flannery.  She has worked at numerous regional houses including Maine State Music Theater, Papermill Playhouse, North Shore Music Theater, Cleveland Playhouse, St. Louis Repertory and Playhouse on Park (World Premiere of HIGGINS IN HARLEM).  She has worked with Hal Prince, Sir Richard Eyre, Michael Mayer, Trevor Nunn, Walter Bobbie, Susan Stroman, Rob Ashford, Wayne Cilento, Jeanine Tesori, Kevin Stites, Brad Haak, Eric Stern and others.

Ms. Robinson has taught at The Hartt School and Juilliard Summer Institute and presently is on faculty at The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and Hartt Community Division. In addition, she travels the country giving master classes.

Her film/TV work includes: Law & Order: CI, Febreze, A Little Game.

She is a proud member of AEA and SAG/AFTRA. She holds degrees from The Hartt School, The Juilliard School and The Curtis Institute.
