Logos & Brand Elements

Welcome to University Publications and Design, the office responsible for the production of official publications and promotional materials for Western Connecticut State University.
Staffed by professional designers, photographers and student interns, our office is primarily a design studio that also offers many production capabilities. Aside from any production work that must be done out-of-house, design and production services we offer are most often free to administrative and teaching faculty. Due to budget considerations, services we offer to students and student groups are limited to printing only at this point and will be reviewed on an individual basis by the director (we are not able to fulfill every request, including large-scale printing for gallery shows or portfolio exhibitions). While we may advise our colleagues and students on effective design practices, we do not presently offer design services to individual students or student groups.

UP&D services include design, copywriting, editing and photography for admissions & marketing materials,
The Cupola magazine, postcards, event posters, program brochures and more. Our office also produces printed materials for annual events such as honors, commencement as well as for the development efforts by the WCSU Foundation, Office of Institutional Advancement & Alumni Relations. We also offer an in-house copy and production center which includes high speed color and black & white copiers, a large format printer capable of printing up to 64 inches wide, foamcore mounting press, large automatic paper cutters, plus folding and binding equipment.

Brand awareness and consistency is a key component of UP&D’s daily efforts. We strive to maintain a traditional, yet contemporary, look to our materials which cater to prospective students of all ages, teaching faculty, scholarly guests and visitors to our campus.
