Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT)

Get Involved

CELT sponsors a number of teaching- and learning-related events and workshops. Some are regularly scheduled and others are available on demand. We can arrange meetings to discuss almost any topic related to teaching. From time to time we’ll invite speakers from off campus to give a presentation and/or run a workshop. Discussions and workshops can also be led by WCSU faculty and staff.

Previous topics have included:

  • Group work in class
  • Fostering class discussion
  • “Problem” students
  • Safe Zones
  • The Five Minute exam
  • Blackboard
  • PowerPoint

We welcome suggestions for presentations, discussions, and workshops. If there is a topic that you think would be of interest to members of the university community, please let us know. Alternatively, feel free to pass on the name of a speaker who can teach us about learning and teaching. Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to develop, on their own or in conjunction with CELT, presentations, discussions, and/or workshops on topics of interest to them. CELT will be happy to help sponsor and publicize it.
