6th ANNUAL WCSU DAY OF SERVICE

The 2019 WCSU Day of Service is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2019!!!
We encourage all students, faculty, staff, and alumni to participate. Between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. classes will not be in session (as per the May 2019 Senate resolution).
A big thank you to everyone who participated in 2018!

Additional photos can be found here.

Close to 300 volunteers helped over 40 not-for-profit organizations in the Greater Danbury Area. From clearing trails at a local horse farm to painting stairwells, sorting through donated clothes, cleaning, pulling weeds or washing fire trucks and ambulances, there was something worthwhile to do everywhere. Generally all volunteers had fun and organizations appreciated the help.

Tentative Schedule:

WCSU Day of Service begins with check-in, continental breakfast and getting your FREE T-SHIRT at 8 a.m. in White Hall 127. After a pep-talk by President Clark, all volunteers will gather for a group photo before being bused to the local organizations for three hours of volunteer service. Buses will return all participants to the Midtown campus by 1 p.m.

To sign up use the Click here to sign up area below. Student organizations can also sign up using the area below, but every volunteer is asked to complete their individual sign-up using the link below.  Please note that if you are under the age of 18 we would need permission from your parent to participate. Your parent could send a short email to diazv@wcsu.edu just stating your name, their relationship to you and that they give permission for you to participate in WCSU Day of Service.

Students, faculty, and staff will come together for our 6th annual Western Day of Service. Sign up now to volunteer with one of the many non-profit organizations in our community.

You could sign up to do a variety of different things such as raking, trimming, and/or weeding trails, sanding and/or painting, serving food, parking cars, registering dancers, cleaning offices, washing fire trucks, moving boxes, tagging books, working with animals, or picking up trash along the streets of Danbury. We are also looking for performers willing to perform at community centers, retirement homes, etc.
